SONG: swallow by joey cash
I've been a fan of Joey Cash's music for a while now. So when I saw he was doing a show in Phoenix, I knew I HAD to go. And a couple of weeks before the concert, they announced that my favorite DJs were opening for him!
Now, when it got closer to the concert I had gotten a cold, so I wasn't so sure I was going to make it. Luckily, the day of the concert, I had felt mostly better, and I wasn’t coughing or sneezing anymore so don’t worry! And I made the decision to go! It was my first time ever going to the Valley Bar, so I did in fact get lost trying to find it. But eventually I figured out to go around the back!
I'm no stranger to Miniskirt's sets. In fact, it made perfect sense to me that they were opening for Joey. They play his songs all the time in the club! I posted to my notes 'should I go to to Joey cash even though I'm sick?', and Bailey swiped up and said 'Yesss', and honestly I was just wanting someone to tell me I should go anyway. So that was the push I needed! And of course, as usual, Miniskirt's set ate down. I've been sending my friends voice messages saying 'I think u freaky and I like u a lot' ever since. This concert was 18+ I believe so I think it's cool a new demographic got to see them, since they usually are in 21+ settings! Always looking forward to seeing a Miniskirt set, Zoey and Bailey always have such cute outfits! As expected, they never disappoint!
I remember randomly stumbling upon 'Lose Control' a while back now. Immediately I was hooked, as it was when I was still barely getting into more hyper pop and electronic sounding music. And I remember, the day Instagram made Reposts a thing, one of the first things I reposted was a reel with Lose Control as the sound (and I told Joey this when I saw him after the show haha). Seeing him live was an amazing experience, and the cherry on top was that I was pretty close to the front, near the front left speaker! So everything was blasting in my ear, I had to put my earplugs in about halfway in. (Though, it might have been just a tad too late). The visuals on the screen were cool, and it was fun to see an artist just jamming up on stage while performing, you could tell he was having fun. I did tell him I'd be writing this, so Joey if you're reading this, hi! Overall, I'm super glad I ended up coming out and seeing the show! 100% worth it!
